Product co-development: define the next salmon product together
When standard products are not enough, let's define what the right salmon product should be - starting from the channel need and the consumption occasion, together with customers, suppliers and processing partners.
Five steps, each with a deliverable
The process is deliberately plain. Its value is that it stops unfounded projects early and gives viable ones a clear path.
Consumer & Channel Need
Who is the consumer, on which occasion, and what does the channel need to solve? We answer those three questions first, not what happens to be in stock.
Output: occasion, target consumer, channel type
Product Brief
Translate the need into a workable definition: product idea, consumption occasion, target consumer, target price, specification, packaging, expected volume and channel requirement. This defines the standard for every later decision.
Output: a one-page product definition
Sourcing & Feasibility
Find and assess raw material, suppliers, processing route, specification, cost and supply feasibility. What is not feasible should be ruled out here.
Output: feasibility verdict, cost range, supply route
Sampling & Validation
Sampling, tasting, channel testing and feedback. The validation mix depends on the actual project - we do not promise capabilities we do not have.
Output: samples, validation feedback, revised specification
Commercialization
If validation holds, move into supply, production, packaging, channel and commercial launch.
Output: final specification, supply plan, long-term framework
What we need from you
- The channel you serve
- The consumer you are targeting
- The occasion
- Target price band and volume
- Any specification or packaging constraint
What you get from us
- An honest feasibility answer
- A sourcing route and cost range
- Sampling support
- A specification that can be ordered repeatedly
We will also say no. If a brief cannot be sourced at a workable cost, or if the specification cannot be held consistently, we will tell you before you commit budget. Once the first real co-development project is completed, its case will be published here through the CMS.
Start with the need, not the product
Eleven short questions. The more concrete the answers, the more useful our first reply will be.
